Some of you may already know that Wildilocks is opening a branch right here in Melbourne. I, for one, was unreasonably excited when I found out and volunteered to be a training model. Today was my appointment and I'm so pleased with the results I decided to share.
So here lies Before and After pics.
This is what my hair looked like before the session:

And this is me after:

A few more here if interested.
I've had hair extensions done in the UK, Singapore, and random salons in Melbourne, and none can match the quality and skills of Wildilocks. There is no discomfort at all, no damage done to hair, easy maintenance, and because the extensions can be re-used about 3 times, it's cost-saving! I think it looks really natural and the hair is really soft.
The service was absolutely fantastic. Cass is amazingly experienced (with incredibly fast hands) and Kat is just gorgeous and professional and they are obviously passionate about what they do. Both are perfectionists and anal, which is something you definitely want in your hair stylists! They made me feel really comfortable and I knew my hair were in the best hands. I'm so pleased to have finally found the salon I trust! Oh and they love cats and crafts, always a plus with me :D
Lockworks opens next Tuesday, 13th November. They are located at Level 1, 382 Little Collins St, Melbourne, entrance on McKillop St.
A++++++++++ WILL TRY AGAIN.

There are many different ways of attaching extensions. I've tried the hot glue method and elastic band method. The first type is really quite shit, it's very lumpy and unnatural and when your hair grows out, the gluey bit just dangles unattractively. The elastic band method lasts ages and blends pretty well, but it is very uncomfortable for the first week and it hurts to put on and take off.
Wildilocks uses this little metal bead to attach the hair. It's completely painless and the bead can be 'unlocked' and reused up to about 3 times before it becomes too loose. So you answer your question about how long they last, once you start getting annoyed with the regrowth you can go back to them to do a touch up. They shouldn't fall out in clumps if done well.
Hopefully Cass or Cat will drop by to answer your question more fully!

I like this method of loose extensions better, having worked with the glue/fusion method before. It's much better for your hair, scalp, and wallet ; )

Forgive me if these are absurd things to wonder about, but my hair's been waist-length or longer for most of my life, so I've never had occasion to find out for myself...
